My work as a painter, educator, and storyteller is entirely about colorfully connecting with other people in the community. My sprawling, gestural abstract paintings loosely reference the landscapes of Richmond, VA, my current city; Charlotte, NC, my hometown; and miscellaneous solo road trips across America. Through my rapid, intuitive process, eventually a mix of abstract forms, an energetic process of mark-making, and vibrant, emotive color choices form an image of my own internal landscape.

My sense of adventure and curiosity leads my work as an educator as well. As the Career Services Manager in the College of Fine Arts at UT Austin, I developed and executed programming and resources to aid students and alumni as they pursued their creative pursuits and also provided one-on-one career advising. In this role, I created consistent branding, graphics, and design to encourage students to engage with our professional development services.

In addition to my passion for the arts and connecting others to opportunity, I am an Artist INC 2017 fellow, a two-term AmeriCorps alumni, and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UNC Charlotte.
