I am a painter, educator, and girl power enthusiast living in Austin, Texas. My process is inspired by my experiences in the community: from working in non-profits and education as well as observations made on idle weekend strolls. As a Career Advisor in the College of Fine Arts at UT Austin, I work with undergraduates in diverse creative disciplines to help them build skills and confidence on their career paths.
When not laying down dropcloth to get messy in my #bedroomstudio or designing professional development workshops, I love cooking, camping in the Texas Hill Country, road tripping, and preaching my bizarre knowledge of 2000s celebrity happenings.

When I am moving or commuting through a place, there seem to be infinite objects that pass through my periphery. I grow with excitement and anxiousness to understand and address them all. This is the feeling with which I approach my work. I work rapidly and energetically, using my own drawings and recollections of environment as resource material. Eventually the mix of abstract forms, intuitive process of mark-making, and vibrant, emotive color choices form an image of my own internal landscape.
Ambiguity is an important element of my work. While many questions about the way humans construct our environment are asked in my working process, they are intended to be left open-ended, allowing the viewer to project their own narrative.
